Brown Mountain Nature Lab

A commitment to stewardship, science, and the arts.
Brown Mountain Nature Lab is situated on 23 acres of pristine high Chihuahuan Desert on the southern edge of west Texas’ Davis Mountains. The isolated landscape ranges from desert grassland scrub to pinyon-juniper-pine grassland across its 125-m elevational gradient. It also features vernal pools surrounding a steep seasonal water drainage, exposed rocks along a stunning ridgeline, open sky areas ideal for personal telescopes, and luscious biocrusts. The property is ideally located for astronomers, ecologists, and creators.
